On this page you will find links to the recipes that are pure LAB invention.

Almost all of my recipes have, at the very least, my own twist, however some recipes are birthed from my own wild and creative mind. These are the recipes that I tried to find on the internet and could not find anything at all, so I went out on a limb and invented the recipe myself.

So this page is really the essence of the LAB. The flavours that formed in my mind, were tested on the husband and then resoundingly concluded as a success.

Smoky Eggplant, Roasted Garlic and Caraway Soup

Eggplant is not a common soup ingredient, but it really should be. The flavours in this are really cheeky, hidden and only subtly showing their faces in each mouthful. The sweet, roasted garlic is especially wonderful.

 
 

Beer Soaked Apple Pie

Pale Ale and Apple Pie, it works so well!

I thought with the beer revival as craft and micro-breweries expanded and brought good beer to the people, surely someone would have tried beer in apple pie (it’s not such a leap from cider to beer and apple pie), but I was wrong, when I invented this in 2011 there was nothing on the internet to indicate anyone had tried this amazing combination.
